Rooms and facilities
Prince of Wales Private Hospital offers you and your partner comfortable surrounds in which to welcome and bond with your precious new baby. Our rooms are all single occupancy, in both the Delivery Suite and the Maternity Ward, with your comfort being top-of-mind.
Our private birthing suites offer a spacious, comfortable and air conditioned environment, while our experienced midwives are there to guide you through labour and support the birth of your baby.
Each suite is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, a television (with all digital channels and a comprehensive movie schedule), refreshment facilities, and an en suite bathroom complete with bath tub.
The rooms have lounges which pull open to provide additional comfort for partners, if required. Each suite is furnished with electronic delivery beds, which provide safety for delivery and comfort through flexible bed configuration during your labour.
We also provide a variety of resources that can be used during childbirth including a bath (in the en suite) for water immersion, birth balls, mats and stools.
Delivery suites feature a bedside computer-based patient management and foetal monitoring system known as K2. It lets midwives monitor your baby’s heart rate from admission through to delivery. The K2 system gives your Obstetrician online access to your admission and labour progress in real time, so he or she can check on you at all hours of the day and night.
